2011 Raiders: Loss
“That 2011 Raiders team, which lost to the Chargers 38-26 and finished 8-8, was a decent squad trying to scrap its way into the postseason less than three months after the death of owner Al Davis. The Hue Jackson-coached team went 1-4 down the stretch to miss out.
This time around, the Raiders (10-3) are looking to do a lot more than just crawl into a Wild Card spot.” -mercurynews
Raider Quarterback: Derek Carr #4
After beginning his NFL career in 2014 with 10 straight losses, Derek Carr #4 has won 20 of his next 35 games, including getting off to a 10-3 start this season. And should he lead the Oakland Raiders to a victory in San Diego on Sunday, they will clinch a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
2016 Raiders Week 14: Loss
“I had no doubt. No doubt at all. I had no doubt in my mind that we were going to go down there and score and then go for two and hit it again,” Donald Penn #72 said, referring to the Raiders’ final drive that stalled out after Derek Carr #4 missed Seth Roberts #10 on a fourth-and-six pass. “I had no doubt in my mind.”
Raiders under full sail towards the AFC Championship Game
“Run down the list of AFC contenders, and there isn’t a single one the Raiders wouldn’t beat right now. Their rivals, the Chiefs and Broncos, the inconstant Steelers, the Gronk-less Patriots. They aren’t just headed for a division title in the NFL’s toughest division, they’re under full sail towards the AFC Championship Game.”-vice.com
So much for the vaunted World Champs. The unbeatable Bronco #OrangeMagic finally ran out of dumb luck. Oakland Raiders had the worst 14 year streak in pro history and you bums managed to win one trophy. Big deal. Now we will stack up 3 more Lombardi Trophies before you’ve even had a chance to catch your breath. So enjoy it for another month but plan to land back in second place where you donkeys belong.
